Disclosed are an adaptive transmission method and system, so as to solve the problem of low precision of estimation on the speed of a mobile terminal in the prior art. In the present invention, related parameters for adaptive speed measurement are constructed, thereby reducing the error rate in determination of a speed type. Furthermore, without acquisition of the inverse function of a first class zero-order Bessel function in a first monotonic interval, the speed rating of a mobile terminal is determined adaptively by using the parameters, so as to adaptively determine the high speed, medium speed, and low speed of a mobile terminal.
