PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a pharmaceutical composition containing islet cells coated with endothelial colony-forming cells is provided to effectively treat diabetes. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing islet cells coated with endothelial colony-forming cells comprises: a step of isolating the endothelial colony-forming cells from blood; and a step of co-culturing the endothelial colony-forming cells and islet in vitro. The blood is human umbilical cord blood, bone marrow blood, or peripheral blood. The islet cells are derived from human or pig. A pharmaceutical composition for treating diabetes contains the islet cells. |
