BALL AND DART LAUNCHER WITH PARALLEL AXIS RELEASE A universal dart launcher (11) launches a dart (25) by moving a dart (25) from a first position to a second position. The universal dart launcher (1I) has a launcher body (13) defining a central bore (19) having an axis (20) and lower and upper ends configured to attach to a string of pipe. A cartridge (15) housed within the launcher body (13) may move perpendicular to the axis (20) from a first position to a second position. A drop member (25) is positioned within the cartridge (15) so that it will not be in axial alignment with the central bore (19) while in the first position, and will be in axial alignment with the central bore (19) while in the second position.
