<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a luminance signal in a small circuit scale while reducing aliasing in an oblique direction component while maintaining excellent resolution in red and blue parts, from an image signal read from an imaging element using a color filter. <P>SOLUTION: Filtering 204 is performed in an oblique direction only on red (R) and blue (B) data in image signal data 201 read from an imaging element using a color filter. Green (G) data is not filtered and output as it is to generate data 205 having two color components, green and a pixel color obtained by the above processing.
