PURPOSE: A device for sensing cleaning time of a dust-trap board and a method thereof are provided to enhance accuracy and not to cause any error by determining the cleaning time according to the number of sparks. CONSTITUTION: A device for sensing cleaning time of a dust-trap board includes an electricity detection unit(220), average voltage and current detection units(221,222) and a cleaning time judgment unit(240). The electricity detection unit detects one or more voltage and current of the high voltage generator. The average voltage and current detection units calculates one or more average voltage and average current from one or more voltage and current during prescribed periods. If predetermined time is passed after the dust collector is operated and one or more average voltage and average current exceed one or more reference voltage and current, the cleaning point determining unit determines the exceeded point as the cleaning point. The spark detecting unit can be installed instead of the average voltage and current detecting unit.
