PURPOSE: An apparatus for manufacturing a casing for a vehicle muffler is provided to continuously and automatically implement bending, seaming, and expanding processes. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for manufacturing a casing for a vehicle muffler comprises a mandrel(1), a bending unit(3), a roll-forming unit(21), a carrier unit, and an expanding unit(59). The bending unit bends a rectangular metal plate(C1) supplied to the underside of the mandrel by making the metal plate contact the outer surface of the mandrel. The roll-forming unit successively folds and seams an end of the metal plate located at the top of the mandrel. The carrier unit transfers a flat pipe to the following process. The expanding unit expands both ends of the transferred flat pipe to obtain an expanded body(C3). |
