PURPOSE: An intake and exhaust system for an engine and a control method thereof are provided to reduce the warm up time of an engine as intake air is heated by an air heater when the temperatures of exhaust gas and coolant are below the desired temperature. CONSTITUTION: A control method for an intake and exhaust system for an engine comprises following steps. The temperature of exhaust gas is measured. The temperature of coolant is measured(S210). An air heater installed in an intake line heats intake air when the temperatures of the coolant and exhaust gas are below the desired temperature(S220,S230,S240).
