METHOD FOR ESTIMATING EXTENT OF SURGERY IN LYMPH EFFLUX COLLECTORS IN MEDULLAR THYROID CARCINOMA

A method for estimating the extent of the surgery in the lymph efflux collectors in the medullar thyroid carcinoma comprises the assessment of the extent of metastasizing. Prior to the surgery, sonography is performed for assessing the size of the tumor. When the size of the tumor exceeds , extrafascial thyroidectomy is performed combined with medial lateral dissection within the non-affected jugular lymphatic collector on both sides.
