<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid brake device configured to reduce loss torque to be generated in a brake rotary body, secure braking force, and improve sealing property between a housing and the brake rotary body. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic seal sleeve 170 which is provided in a housing 110 to surround a brake shaft 131 in a rotating direction, has seal gaps 180, 181 communicating with a fluid chamber 114, formed between the sleeve and the brake shaft 131, and generates magnetic flux to be guided to the brake shaft 131 through the gaps 180, 181. The magnetic seal sleeve includes magnetic flux guide yokes 174, 175 protruding toward an inner periphery. In the gaps 180, 181, a magnetic fluid 190 formed by dispersing magnetic particles in a base liquid in a specific surface area larger than a magnetic viscous fluid 140, is caught in a film state by raising viscosity through the action of the magnetic flux MF guided by the magnetic flux guides 174, 175. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
