FAULT DIAGNOSIS DEVICE OF IN-VEHICLE APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault diagnosis device to be mounted on an in-vehicle apparatus, which improves accuracy in diagnosing a fault based on residuals to enhance reliability of fault diagnosis using the method of residuals.

SOLUTION: The fault diagnosis device includes: residual generation means 27 that generates residuals by comparing actual behavior of an in-vehicle apparatus 28 with a behavior of an in-vehicle apparatus model 15 that shows standard behavior of the apparatus to be mounted on a vehicle; residual occurrence probability calculation means 35 that calculates occurrence probability of residuals; residual correction means 31 that weights the residuals generated by the residual generation means 27 according to the probability generated by the residual occurrence probability calculation means 35 to correct the residuals; and fault determination means 33 that determines the existence of a fault in a target apparatus on the basis of the residuals corrected by the residual correction means 31.
