<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an excessive impact force and restrain vibrations when an input resistance contact part is opened or closed. <P>SOLUTION: A puffer type gas circuit breaker with an input resistance contact comprises a main contact part A inputting or blocking power, and an input resistance contact part B electrically and parallely connected to the main contact part A. Slide rings 17a, 17b sliding on an inner face of a movable side electric shield 16 and an energization ring 18 are provided on an outer periphery of a movable side input resistance contact 15 at a sliding portion between the movable side input resistance contact 15 and the movable side electric shield 16. Slide rings 22a, 22b sliding on an inner face of an electric shield 20 are provided on an outer periphery of an opposite side input resistance contact 21 at a sliding portion between the opposite side input resistance contact 21 and the electric shield 20.
