<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel material for a machine structure for friction pressure welding, which has improved cold workability such as cold forgeability before and after the friction pressure welding and is excellent in component performance such as fatigue strength and impact property after the friction pressure welding, and a friction pressure welding component (including an intermediate product). <P>SOLUTION: The steel material for a machine structure for friction pressure welding comprises 0.001-0.05 mass% of C, 0.001-2.0 mass% of Si, 0.2-3.0 mass% of Mn, ≤0.03 mass% of P (not including 0 mass%), 0.002-0.1 mass% of S, 0.005-0.1 mass% of Al, 0.008-0.02 mass% of solid soluble N and the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities and has a steel material structure comprising ≥95% ferrite and ≤2 mass% cementite (including 0%), wherein the ferrite has an average grain size of 10-100 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
