<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information device whose terminal side connection terminal is not electrochemically corroded easily even when moisture is stuck, and which is realized at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The portable information device includes: a terminal side connection terminal 13; an internal circuit 15 including a secondary battery 18 as an operation power source; a switch element 17 provided between the terminal side connection terminal 13 and the internal circuit 15; and a control part 31. The control part 31 detects whether or not a connection terminal of an external device is connected to the terminal side connection terminal 13 by applying an intermittent pulse-like voltage to a detection terminal pin 34 of the terminal side connection terminal 13 and measuring the change of a potential of the pulse-like voltage, and when the connection terminal of the external device is connected to the terminal side connection terminal 13, operates the switch element 17 to connect the terminal side connection terminal 13 and the internal circuit 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
