<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly switch a bit rate. <P>SOLUTION: A reception part receives file data of contents transmitted by a file unit, a buffer stores received file data, and a switch part switches a bit rate of the received file data. When a first bit rate is switched to a second bit rate to be a higher speed than the first bit rate, a buffer control part quickly switches the bit rate by deleting the file data other than that of files including at least a file under reproduction and a file to be reproduced next among the file data stored in the buffer.
