<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve driving performance on snowy and icy roads while ensuring high-drainage and low-noise performances. <P>SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire whose mounting direction to a vehicle is predetermined. A central inboard major groove 3 extending on the vehicle inner side from the tire equator C and a central outboard major groove 4 of zigzag form, composed of long side parts 4T each of which slantingly extends with respect to the tire circumferential direction, and short side parts 4S each of which connects one of the long side parts 4T to a next one of the long side parts 4T extending on the vehicle outer side from the tire equator C, are formed. The groove width W1 of the central inboard major groove 3 is set to be the largest among the main grooves, and a distance Li between the groove center line 3G of the central inboard major groove 3 and the tire equator C is smaller than a distance Lo between the center line 4G of the peak-to-peak swing of the zigzag of the central outboard major groove 4 and the tire equator C, and end parts on the central outboard major groove 4 side of a central lateral groove 7 and a middle outboard lateral groove 9 are each set on an intersection of the a long side part 4T and the short side parts 4S, and the groove width W7 of a middle outboard lateral groove 9 is the largest among the lateral grooves. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
