PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display panel with a touch detection function which can reduce an influence of disturbance noise.

SOLUTION: A display panel with a touch detection function comprises: a signal generation unit which selects one pulse period among a plurality of pulse periods prepared in advance and generates synchronizing signals (horizontal synchronizing signals Hsync) including a series of pulses which appear in the selected pulse period; a display unit for performing display on the basis of the synchronizing signals; and a touch detection unit for performing touch detection operation on the basis of the synchronizing signals. With this configuration, operation timing of display operation and touch detection operation changes as a pulse period of synchronizing signals changes.
