The machine has a cooler comprising cavities (100) formed in a rotor (110) or a stator and filled with a phase-change material that forms a heat transfer unit, where phase of the material is changed during preset temperature variation of the machine. The cavities are positioned and dimensioned within the machine to minimize influence of the cavities on torque variations and magnetic flux in the machine. The cavities are provided close to magnets (140), and traverse the entire length of the machine.
