The present invention relates to the field of communications, and relates specifically to a method and device for acquiring wireless local area network information. In the method provided in the present invention for acquiring the wireless local area network information, on the basis of current location information of a user equipment, a network element of a mobile network determines the wireless local area network information corresponding to the current location of the user equipment, and transmits to the user equipment the wireless local area information corresponding to the current location of the user equipment. Employment of the method provided in the present invention allows the user equipment to acquire timely the wireless local area network information corresponding to the location where the user equipment is at.
