<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve color irregularity due to birefringence of a polarizing optical article. <P>SOLUTION: A multilayered polarizing optical article includes at least a linear polarization function part, a phase difference function part, and a backup resin part. The polarizing optical article with the color irregularity improved includes, sequentially from an objective side towards an eyepiece side, the linear polarization function part, the phase difference function part, and the backup resin part. The linear polarization function part is, for example, a linear polarizer, the phase difference function part is, for example, a phase difference sheet, and the phase difference function part has retardation of, for example, 1000 nm or more.
