<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that can suppress size increase of a panel and the like while securing the response speed. <P>SOLUTION: First and second liquid crystal panels 51a and 51b as first and second optical modulation elements each include a plurality of pixel blocks PE including a first pixel PG, a second pixel PW, a third pixel PR, and a fourth pixel PB with different arrangement.
