There is proposed a method for producing laid fibre fabrics and/or component preforms made of fibres, having the steps of a) clamping a plurality of threads (20) in a clamping plane (E); b) moving a workpiece carrier (1) through the clamping plane (E) in a direction substantially perpendicular to the clamping plane (E); and c) fixing the threads to the workpiece carrier (1); and d) repeating steps a) to c) to form the laid fibre fabric and/or the component preform.
