<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video processing apparatus and video processing method improving visibility of 3D video based on 3D video data. <P>SOLUTION: The video processing apparatus includes generation means and control means. The generation means is configured to generate 3D video data. The control means is configured to control a depth range in a depth direction of a display range within which the 3D video data is stored, and command means gives a command to control the depth range. If the 3D video data includes character data, the control means controls the depth range in the depth direction of the display range, within which the 3D video data including character data is stored.
