摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply obtain 2-pyrrolidone used as a raw material for polyamide-4,N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, and polyvinyl pyrrolidone in low energy and at low costs as a main purpose. <P>SOLUTION: A method for using a microorganism or an enzyme solution prepared by crushing the microorganism to efficiently produce &gamma;-amino butyric acid from glutamic acid and/or a glutamate. A method for efficiently synthesizing 2-pyrrolidone from &gamma;-amino butyric acid obtained using a microorganism. A system for producing &gamma;-amino butyric acid from glutamic acid and/or a glutamate, then recovering the remaining unreacted glutamic acid and/or glutamate, producing &gamma;-amino butyric acid from the recovered glutamic acid and/or a glutamate, and further synthesizing 2-pyrrolidone.
