<p>Deconsolidation and decontamination of objects by repeated vapor phase extraction or -leaching of preservatives, comprises transferring at least one solvent or solvent mixture in the vapor phase to a reaction chamber surrounding the object as a pressure room of a pressure chamber and contacting with the object such that the objects contained in the preservative are softened or dissolved by the solvent or solvent mixture, and extracted or leached without a significant change on the original substance of the object. An independent claim is also included for a device for deconsolidation and decontamination of objects by vapor phase extraction or -leaching of preservatives, comprising (a) a hermetically sealable pressure chamber for receiving and treating the objects, (b) an apparatus connected to the pressure chamber for generating a positive and/or negative pressure in the pressure room of the pressure chamber, (c) at least one storage tank for solvent or solvent mixture, which is shut off for at least one connecting line and is connected to the pressure chamber for supplying of solvent or solvent mixture into the pressure chamber, (d) a pressure-equalizing device, (e) at least one drain valve or -slide, (h) sensors for humidity, pressure and temperature, (g), a control and regulating device associated with the pumping device and a supplying means for solvent and sensors.</p> |
