PURPOSE: A magnesium alloy material and an engine part are provided to ensure improved high-temperature fatigue strength because of a plurality of coarse granular precipitates and coarse plate-type precipitates existing in the areas of a long-period stacking ordered phase and a lamellar phase. CONSTITUTION: A magnesium alloy material comprises Gd of 0.4-5.0 weight%, Zn of 0.2-2.5 weight%, and Mg and inevitable impurities of the remaining amount. The magnesium alloy material includes a long-period stacking ordered phase and a lamellar phase, wherein the area of long-period stacking ordered phase contains coarse granular precipitates of 1.0 per 1Mm^2 and the area of the lamellar phase contains coarse plate-type precipitates of 0.1 per 1Mm^2. |
