<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film that has higher withstand voltage than a conventional polyester film. <P>SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester film for electric insulation has: the weight average molecular weight of the polyester film of 30,000 or larger but 100,000 or smaller; the polydispersity expressed by a ratio (Mw/Mn) of the weight average molecular weight to a number average molecular weight of 2.5 or larger but 3.5 or smaller; and breakdown voltage of 530 V/μm or larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
