The bone implant (1) has a metallic porous fine structure formed by three-dimensional framework of interconnected struts and the interconnected cavities. The cavities on the surface of the bone implant is formed as partially open cells. The fine structure is formed by a number of surface elements (20) that define the coarse structure of the bone implant. The shape, size, number and orientation of the recess formed in the surface elements are selected to obtain a predetermined friction. An independent claim is included for hip joint implant.
