<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polycarbonate having excellent characteristics such as hue and mechanical properties with stable qualities and in a high yield, in producing a polycarbonate using a specified dihydroxy compound having a -CH<SB POS="POST">2</SB>-O- structure that is less thermally stable compared to bisphenols used as a raw material for a polycarbonate in the prior arts. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a polycarbonate comprises continuously supplying a dihydroxy compound containing a specific dihydroxy compound having a -CH<SB POS="POST">2</SB>-O- structure in a part of the structure thereof, a diester carbonate, and a polymerization catalyst into a reactor and subjecting the compounds to polycondensation. In the method, the reactor comprises a plurality of reactors connected at least in series; a reactor just before the final polymerization reactor is controlled to have an inner temperature of 200°C or higher and lower than 230°C; and a reaction liquid at an exit of the reactor just before the final polymerization reactor has a melt viscosity of 100 Pa s or more and 1,000 Pa s or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
