[Classes 38 (i) and 53] A tight joint is made between the terminal lug a of a battery and the-casing f by means of two cup-shaped washers b, c enclosing between them a rubber &c. collar d which passes through the opening bounded by a depending lip or valance e where the lug passes through the casing. The parts are pressed together by a nut k. The washer c may be formed with a recess on its lower side to accommodate a resilient collar g which serves as a resilient support for the various parts and as a vibration damper for the battery plates suspended from the top of the container by the terminal lug. |
