The drive assembly (10) has an annular rotor (18), and a stator that electro-mechanically drives an input element (50) of a differential (48). An output element is terminated at the wheel of motor vehicle through drive shafts. The annular rotor is drifted on the input element of the differential via a translation mechanism (64). The translation mechanism and the differential are integrated in the rotor. The translation mechanism is a planetary gear by which an input element (66) of the rotor is driven.
