<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to improve reception performance when receiving a signal with a variable frequency band. <P>SOLUTION: The receiver of one aspect of the present technology comprises a demodulation part which, when a first frequency, the central frequency of a received signal band, and a second frequency, the central frequency of a desired signal included in part of the received signal band, are different, converts received signal to a baseband signal made by making a frequency near the second frequency a direct current component.
