<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which enables the activity of a solid catalyst with a nickel metal as an active component to be objectively evaluated. <P>SOLUTION: This method for measuring the activity of a catalyst is first perform a pretreatment process for supplying a hydrogen gas to the solid catalyst with the nickel metal as an active component. The method is then to measure the hydrogen gas adsorption of the solid catalyst as a solid catalyst activity measurement method.
