<p>A roof-bolt drill bit has a bit body rotatable about a central axis and at least one coupling pocket in the bit body. At least one cutting element 34 is at least partially disposed in the at least one coupling pocket. The at least one cutting element includes a cutting face 48, a back surface 57, and first and second planar element side surfaces 54, 56. The first and second element side surfaces are both adjacent to the element back surface and also non-parallel. The first and second element side surfaces are, in use, adjacent to the first and second pocket side surfaces respectively. The element side surfaces may be parallel to the pocket side surfaces and the element side surfaces may be arcuate.</p> |
