PURPOSE: A device for dividing a compressed satellite image and a method thereof are provided to store compressed satellite data in a storage by indexing, thereby minimizing costs for storing the satellite image data for a long time. CONSTITUTION: A receiving unit receives a source packet from a satellite. An extracting unit extracts a compressed satellite image segment and length information thereof from the received source packet. An index generating unit generates an index of the compressed satellite image segment using the length information and a continuous start position. A storage unit stores the compressed satellite image segment and the generated index. |
