A vacuum insulation panel for providing thermal insulation comprises a panel assembly and a spacer assembly. The panel assembly comprises a first rigid sheet and a second rigid sheet. The spacer assembly comprises a lattice grid. The lattice grid has a central region and a peripheral region. The spacer assembly also comprises a plurality of spacer posts securely attached to the lattice grid. The peripheral region of the lattice grid of the spacer assembly has fewer spacer posts distributed than the central region of the lattice grid of the spacer assembly. The spacer assembly inside the panel assembly provides structural integrity to the vacuum insulation panel. This invention relates to vacuum insulation panels, and the principal use of the invention is for providing thermal insulation.
