PURPOSE: An antitheft water meter is provided to prevent a gauge rotating to a backward direction when a user arbitrarily installs the gauge in the backward direction by constituting a rotating gear to be rotated in one direction and preventing the rotation to the backward direction of the rotating gear with a simple structure. CONSTITUTION: An antitheft water meter comprises a rotating rod(10), a locking projection, and an auxiliary locking projection. One side of the rotating rod is installed to be rotated while being connected to a body(1). An end of the other side of the rotating rod is inserted into a recess between teeth of one rotating gear(8) among a plurality of rotating gear. The locking projection is spaced from the rotating gear in which the rotating rod is inserted, thereby controlling the movement of the rotating rod.
