SYSTEM FOR NOx REDUCTION IN EXHAUST GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce pollutants containing soot-type particulates and NOx in a combustion exhaust gas flow of a vehicle.

SOLUTION: A system for NOx reduction in exhaust gases includes an oxidation catalyst, a wall flow filter, a reducing agent addition apparatus, and an SCR catalyst that are disposed in this order from the upstream of the exhaust gas flow. The wall flow filter together with the oxidation catalyst regulates the ratio of NO and NO2in the exhaust gas flow, and then the SCR catalyst reduces NOx.
