<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively detect a brought-in article. <P>SOLUTION: An article detection device comprises: an imaging part 20 for sequentially acquiring monitoring images obtained by photographing a monitoring area; a storage part 21 for storing a background image in which a background of the monitoring area is photographed and a person model imitating a shape of person; and a control part 22 for detecting a stationary article. The control part 22 includes: change area extraction means 220 for extracting a change area from the monitoring image and the background image; article area extraction means 222 for overlapping the person model with the change area and storing the characteristics of the article area which is inside the change area and outside of the person model; stationary object area detection means 223 for temporally tracing the change area in the sequentially acquired images, determining whether the change area is stationary, and detects a stationary object area; and abnormality determination means 224 for determining whether the stationary object area has the characteristics of the article area when the stationary object area is detected, and determining that the stationary object area is the article if the stationary object area has the characteristics of the article area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
