<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use storage capacity of a buffer and to reduce frequency of an intermittent operation of original reading. <P>SOLUTION: An image reader includes: a transfer section which alternately switches two buffers, stores image data by reading an original and transfers image data from the other buffer different from a storage destination; a state determination section determining a memory full state when transfer from the buffer of a switching destination is not terminated if the buffer of the storage destination is switched, and determining a memory ready state when the transfer is terminated after the memory full state; and a reading control section which allows a reading section to read the original by every line at a line period synchronized with a drive clock signal, stores a reading position and stops the reading of the original when a system becomes the memory full state, rotationally drives a drive motor and resumes the reading of the original from the stored reading position when the system becomes the memory ready state after a stop. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
