<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the adjustment of a developing bias voltage to be applied to a developing roller. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a leakage detection unit 101, a leakage generation measurement unit 102, and a developing bias voltage control unit 103. When the leakage detection unit 101 detects leakage generation, the leakage generation measurement unit 102 measures a leakage generation time. The developing bias voltage control unit 103 determines a lowering width of the developing bias voltage from the measured leakage generation time. Next, when the leakage generation time is shorter than a predetermined time T, the developing bias voltage control unit 103 controls to change one of a peak voltage and a DC voltage to lower the developing bias voltage by the lowering width. Meanwhile, when the leakage generation time is equal to or more than the predetermined time T, the developing bias voltage control unit 103 controls to change both of the peak voltage and the DC voltage to lower the developing bias voltage by the lowering width. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
