SUBJECT IDENTIFICATION DEVICE AND COIN IDENTIFICATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subject identification device and a coin identification device which are superior in identification accuracy.

SOLUTION: The subject identification device that identifies a subject having an uneven pattern on the surface includes: a transparent part having a support face which supports the subject; a light irradiation part which irradiates the surface of the subject with illumination light via the transparent part; imaging means for imaging an imaging area including at least a part of the transparent part to generate image data; and an identification processing part which performs identification processing for the subject by using the image data generated by the imaging means. The identification processing part performs identification processing based on identification image data in which subject image data generated by imaging the imaging area when the subject exists in the imaging area is corrected by correction image data generated by imaging the imaging area when the subject does not exist in the imaging area.
