The objective of the present invention is to increase opportunities in which data of a larger data amount is used for output of content while reducing the received amount of data from networks of lower communication speed and networks in which communication charges added according to the amount of communication are higher. This terminal device can be connected to a first network which is of higher communication speed or for which communication charges added according to the amount of communication are lower, and a second network which is of lower communication speed than the first network or for which communication charges added according to the amount of communication are higher. The terminal device receives first data of large data amount via the first network and stores the same. In addition, the terminal device receives second data of smaller data amount than the first data via the second network and stores the same. The terminal device assesses the connection states of the networks and the storage states of the data, and on the basis of the assessment results, controls reception of the data used for output of the content.
