Electrochemical sensor element for body fluids and method for its production

The electrochemical sensor element (10) comprises an electrically conductive layer structure (14) formed on a non-conductive carrier substrate (12). The electrically conductive layer structure includes a continuous base layer (26) which consists of tantalum or niobium or an alloy. A metallic cover layer (28) is formed on the base layer for covering the base layer completely or partially. The cover layer consists of more amount of noble metal compared to the base layer. An independent claim is included for manufacturing method of electrochemical sensor element.
