The fuel injector (1) has an axially segmented housing structure with high- and low-side power supply connections. A hub-adjustable nozzle needle (12) is accommodated in an axial bore (10) which is connected to a high pressure side supply terminal. An intermediate piece is formed at an end of the nozzle needle as a cup-shaped cup (18), where throttling arrangements are provided.
