PURPOSE: A method for detecting reflectivity cells related to severe weather is provided to remove uncertainty from weather supporting tasks such as aeration weather forecasting. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting reflectivity cells related to severe weather includes the following steps: reflectively cells related to severe weather are detected from the lattice point components of the 3D Constant Altitude Plan Position Indicator(CAPPI) data; and the properties of the reflectivity cells are analyzed. The reflectivity cell detecting process includes the following steps: lattice points, which exceed the pre-determined critical value of reflectivity, are verified from the lattice point components; one dimensional components, two dimensional components, and three dimension components are verified by searching the verified lattice point components; and three dimensional reflectivity cell is detected(S21).
