PURPOSE: A method for managing energy using a server and a system thereof are provided to analyze an image about a specific area and automatically prevent the energy which is unnecessarily consumed in the specific area according to an analyzing result, thereby automatically managing the energy. CONSTITUTION: An image sensor stores an initial image about a detecting area(S10). When an object enters into the detecting area, the image sensor analyzes and compares current image of the detecting area including an image of the object and the initial image(S20). The image sensor extracts an outline of the image of the object according to an analyzing result and calculates an extent of an area defined by the extracted outline(S30).
