The device has a saturator (22) determining a saturated electric braking command (2) equal to an overall braking command (1) according to a value of a stability indicator. A module subtractor (13) determines a complementary braking command (5) by realizing complement of a value (4) obtained from the electric braking command to obtain the overall braking command. The saturator comprises a progressive deactivator module for deactivating or activating the electric braking command in an order according to given deactivation time-constant. An independent claim is also included for a method for distributing an overall braking command between a saturated electric braking command of an electric braking unit and a complementary braking command of a complementary braking unit.
