PURPOSE: A foreign language teaching system and a corpus collecting method using the same are provided to learn foreign language while arousing leaner's interest under the self-directed learning. CONSTITUTION: A foreign language teaching system comprises a user terminal(100), a game based learning server(400), and an operator terminal(300). The user terminal participates in a virtual situation mission through a game provided to a network and transfer speaking data of a user. The operator terminal extracts or creates speaking data corresponding to the speaking data of the user from a pre-stored conversation list in real time. The game based learning server provides the game for foreign language learning to the user terminal and the operator terminal. The game based learning server transfers the conversation list to the operator terminal by being connected with storing unit. The game based learning server collects and stores conversation corpus for virtual situations by exchanging the speaking data provided from the user terminal and the operator terminal.
