<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow image density to be controlled with high accuracy in a technique that forms an image by using liquid developer. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming method comprises the steps of: forming a latent image that has a width in a moving direction of a latent image carrier on the latent image carrier; developing the latent image by liquid developer that has toner and liquid carrier so as to form a toner image; detecting an edge of the toner image toward the moving direction of the latent image carrier by an optical sensor; measuring a speed of the latent image carrier in the moving direction thereof; measuring a width of the toner image toward the moving direction of the latent image carrier from edge information of the toner image and speed information of the latent image carrier; and adjusting image forming conditions associated with image density based on the width of the toner image having been measured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
