IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD OF THE SAME, AND IMAGE DISPLAY SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of performing calibration with good accuracy even if temperature unevenness occurs inside a backlight.

SOLUTION: The image display device has: a backlight having a plurality of light-emitting blocks; a display panel; calibration means for performing calibration of the display panel based on a measurement result by panel measuring means for measuring luminance and chromaticity of the display panel; temperature measuring means for measuring the temperature of each of a plurality of the light-emitting blocks; setting means for setting a patch image display area in an area of a display panel corresponding to a light-emitting block whose magnitude of temperature change in a prescribed period is smaller than a threshold value; and creating means for creating a patch image to be displayed in the set patch image display area. The calibration means performs calibration based on a measurement result by the panel measuring means in the case where the patch image is displayed in the patch image display area.
